About Us
The Chester County Health Care Partnership originated in 1998 as an initiative developed at the Chester County Work Force Summit. The purpose of this initiative was to address the workforce development needs within the local health care delivery system. Our Chester County Health Care Partnership has now grown to include more than 22 organizations, including hospitals, continuing care facilities, acute rehabilitation facilities, educational institutions, and county development offices.
Presently, there is a national shortage of nursing and allied health care workers that is predicted to continue past 2020. Reasons for this shortage include, increasing demands on our health care system due to aging "baby boomers," new illnesses and diseases, and longevity of adults. This increase in demand coupled with an aging work force, declines in available pools of workers, increasingly high staff staff turnover rates, and decrease in staff to patient ratios has created what is being termed the "perfect storm." These issues have stressed the ability of health care providers to deliver high-quality services.
The goal of this group is to form partnerships to share information, ideas, programs and funding to stabilize and strengthen the local workforce. Initiatives will improve the quality of health care delivery in Chester County through incumbent job training and career awareness/mentoring activities.
