This one-day course has been designed to support the Licensed Practical Nurse to utilize appropriate physical assessment skills with geriatric residents and patients. It will build on the LPN’s basic knowledge and experience. Content will focus on normal changes with aging, especially the cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, dermatologic and neurologic systems. Emphasis will be on the identification of significant findings in the elderly population. Methods of documenting and communicating findings will be presented.
