This one-day course has been designed to support the Registered Nurse in utilizing physical assessment skills with geriatric residents and patients. It will build on basic knowledge and experience. Content will focus on normal changes with aging, especially the cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, dermatologic and neurologic systems. Emphasis will be on the identification of significant findings in the elderly population. Methods of documenting and communicating findings will be presented.
