Strategies for Working with Interpreters

This training is for staff that regularly provides or will be providing services through the use of interpreters. It gives the participants:

• Perspective on the cultural issues and competencies that affect outcomes of interpreted interviews with clients
• Knowledge of what to expect when working with trained interpreters
• Guidance for working with untrained interpreters (to protect the provider and comply with the law)
• General do's and don'ts for working with interpreters, both trained and untrained
